Dear IASP World Conference delegates,
I’m delighted to welcome you to our upcoming World Conference, which will take place from 27-30 September 2022 in Seville, Spain. After two years of virtual editions, I look forward to seeing you all again, in person.
The main theme of our 39th IASP World Conference on Science Parks and Areas of Innovation will be “Green and digital change powered by innovation: The role of innovation ecosystems”. This theme goes to the heart of how we achieve sustainable development, intensifying the focus on climate change and the need for action and innovative solutions for future generations to come.
Our conference will explore how both green technologies and increasing digitalisation have a role to play in combating climate change, and what our community can do to bring innovative companies together to develop and prioritise solutions, helping us move towards a carbon neutral future. By connecting people locally and internationally and driving innovation, our community can help us achieve sustainable prosperity in our climate goals.
Thank you to Cartuja Science and Technology Park for hosting this great international event, where I am sure we will all make new connections and expand our knowledge of how science and technology parks and areas of innovation can advance green and digital change.
After two years of online conferences, and a virtual journey where technology helped us all stay connected, I am thrilled to return to a physical event, with all the buzz, networking and direct knowledge sharing that we all remember so well from past IASP events. IASP 2022 Seville will be no exception, and I look forward to seeing there.
In addition to a rich scientific programme, where we will feature our global community’s ability to provide green and digital solutions powered by innovation, we’ll also have the opportunity to catch up, learn from each other, and connect with new partners from around the world, as well as discovering the historic city of Seville and its innovation ecosystem. A city full of UNESCO World Heritage sites, Seville also offers rich gastronomic tradition and local culture, as well as a unique local host – Cartuja Science and Technology Park.
As the first international example of reworking the legacy of a World Exhibition – the Seville Expo ’92 – to transform it into a space connecting universities, science, and corporations, they’ll make sure we discover the best their city and region has to offer, and introduce us to its innovation hotspots and cultural gems.
We have all missed international travel as much as we have missed those spontaneous meetings that only face to face events can offer, and I will be delighted to see you all in Seville in 2022 as we explore the city, together.
General Manager of Science and Technology Park Cartuja
Dear colleagues, dear delegates,
We are delighted to invite you to the 39th IASP World Conference in September 2022 in Seville, Spain, at our Science and Technology Park Cartuja.
It is a great honour for us to host the IASP World Conference in our home city, where we will all have the chance to discuss and debate topics under the main theme “Green and digital change powered by innovation: The role of innovation ecosystems.”
Here in Seville this green and digital focus is firmly embedded in everything we do. Our city is an exciting European hub, leading the way with eCity initiatives, ever-growing pedestrian zones and bicycle paths, stylish shops and restaurants, and the largest historical centre in Europe. We will do our best to show you that Seville, and our region of Andalusia, have more to offer than culture, tourism and gastronomy: our science and technology parks are home to innovation, with cutting-edge research centres, innovative startups and established companies, where highly skilled teams and individuals come together to thrive.
We will have the pleasure of welcoming you to our beautiful, vibrant city, a place that is open to innovation and progress, where tradition and modernity come together. It is intimately linked to its role in history and to its extensive cultural heritage; over the past few years, Seville has transformed itself, creatively blending the value of tradition with generous doses of fresh innovation, while still maintaining its unique personality, joy, and openness to visitors.
I look forward to seeing you here from 27th-30th September 2022!
